Application:
Engine Washer/Industry Classification: Automotive
Background:
A manufacturer of truck engines was upgrading four parts
washing lines as well as installing four new lines. The
new engine program required a tight product cleanliness
specification, which required that the water used to clean
the part be extremely clean. In addition, the customer wanted
automatic filtration rather than traditional bag filters.
The
manufacturer of the parts washing equipment, together with
the customer, narrowed the field of filtration alternatives
to two approaches, including Zero Gravity Filters.
Over
a one-month period, onsite tests were performed including
particle analysis, backwash efficiency, and overall reliability.
In each category, the Zero Gravity Filter proved superior
to the traditional bag approach and another automatic filter.
Solution:
Based on the trial's results, the Zero Gravity Filter
system was chosen. A six pod System 2000 is installed on
each of eight parts washers.
